What Halal Foodie is

Halal Foodie is a guide to halal restaurants in Belgium and the Netherlands: listings, photos, reviews, opening hours, and paid placements that are always clearly labeled.

Restaurant information — including halal status, menus, prices, and opening hours — comes from restaurants themselves, our community, and public sources. We curate it in good faith, but we cannot guarantee it is always accurate, complete, or up to date. Always check directly with the restaurant when it matters, especially for dietary or religious requirements.

Your account

You can browse Halal Foodie without an account. If you create one, keep your details accurate, keep your sign-in method to yourself, and use one account per person. You are responsible for what happens through your account. You can delete your account at any time in your profile settings; we may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Reviews and other content you post

Reviews must reflect your own genuine experience. Don't post anything unlawful, misleading, defamatory, or spammy — and never accept payment or favors for a review. We may remove content that breaks these rules or that we reasonably believe is fake.

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, translate, and promote it as part of operating Halal Foodie. This license ends when the content is deleted, except for copies we must keep for legal reasons.

Restaurant submissions

When you suggest a restaurant, you confirm the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge. We decide what gets published, and we may edit, verify, or decline submissions. Submitting a restaurant does not create any right to be listed.

Advertising

Restaurants can buy clearly labeled paid placements. These are governed by our advertising terms. Paid placements never change organic rankings, ratings, or reviews.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse Halal Foodie: no scraping or bulk-copying our database, no interfering with the site's operation, no impersonating others, and no using the site to break the law.

Our content

The Halal Foodie name, design, and database are protected by intellectual property rights and belong to Sefiani Technologies BV or its licensors. You may use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes; any other use needs our written permission.

Liability

Halal Foodie is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages or for decisions made based on listing information — including a restaurant's halal status.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under law — including our liability for fraud or gross negligence — or affects the statutory rights you have as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Halal Foodie evolves. For significant changes we will give at least 15 days' notice before they take effect — for example by email or a notice on the site. If you keep using Halal Foodie after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Belgian law, and disputes belong to the courts of Belgium. If you live in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of your country of residence, and you may also bring proceedings there.
