How results are ranked
Organic results
When you browse a city or search on Halal Foodie, the restaurant results are ordered by a combination of the following main parameters:
- Relevance to your searchHow well the restaurant matches what you typed and the filters you selected.
- DistanceHow close the restaurant is to the location or city you are browsing.
- RatingThe restaurant's average review score and number of reviews.
- Profile completenessHow complete the restaurant's listing is (photos, opening hours, contact details).
Ad
Paid placements
Restaurants can pay for a Featured Listing on city pages and city-scoped search results, or a Homepage Spotlight on our home page. Paid placements are always shown in a separate strip pinned above the organic results, and every paid card carries a clearly visible “Ad” label.
Paying never changes a restaurant's position in the organic results, its rating, or its reviews — a paid placement buys a labeled, pinned slot and nothing else.
