Charcoal

One of the recommended restaurants if you are visiting Delft. We ordered some shared menus and it was good. The price is a bit high, but the ambience and the owner’s hospitality are above average. Happy to be back, and try another menu.

We had grilled chicken, steak, and pasta with seafood, and few sides. All were great with a nice mix of cuisines while preserving authenticity. The staff was quite friendly (but not too friendly).

The food is so good and fresh. Unique cuisine, fresh food, dynamic staffs. It is the first time since I moved to the Netherlands, where I saw such a dynamic staff. 2 cooks, 2 waiters including the owner. Very dynamic, fresh and unique food experience. I will gladly come back.

I highly recommend this restaurant. It’s small, situated beautifully in the center of historical Delft, and the atmosphere inside is very nice. What’s even better is the food. Simply phenomenal. We really enjoyed our yakitori, fish and gambas. The charcoal grill gives a beautiful flavor and the restaurant uses good quality charcoal, so it’s not smoky inside. The service was at times a bit on the slower side, but as the restaurant operates with a limited amount of very well trained and friendly personnel, it isn’t a bother. Truly a little gem and worth coming back to.

Very nice place close to the center, we got two different steaks and both were cooked very well to what we asked for and tasted very good with their sauce. The fries on the side were also very crispy and delicious. Staff was also friendly and nice. Overall a very good experience and delicious food for a decent price
