The atmosphere is excellent. High ceilings, big windows looking out over the canal, and progressive books everywhere give it a relaxed, almost living-room feel. It’s the kind of café where you can sit with a book and forget the clock for a while. Service was genuinely warm and attentive without being intrusive. You feel welcome the moment you walk in. The coffee itself was very good. The flavour of the coffee sat only slightly above the oat milk, so the beans didn’t punch through. Not bad at all. Overall , Schattig. wins on atmosphere and service. Plenty of books, comfortable seating, and a calm vibe that makes it a perfect spot to slow down for a while.

What a delightful place. With huge windows overlooking the canal, it’s very bright and atmospheric. I tried all I could on the menu, and it was tasty and well prepared. Loved the spicy tuna melt with dirty chai latte, and finished my meal with pistacchio banana bread and decaf pumpkin latte. All with oat milk. Plus, all the staff is very attentive and friendly

My all time favorite cozy cafe! The atmosphere is so cozy, the staff are always so kind, the food is always delicious, and the newly added maple spice pecan latte has quickly become my favorite. Cannot recommend enough!

I found this lovely cafe by chance whilst cycling back towards the Hoek to catch the ferry. Some of the best coffee I've ever had and a super tasty bowl of yoghurt, fruit and granola. Great service too! Absolutely recommend anyone to visit, I'll definitely go out of my way to call by another time
