Zaytoona

If you like Middle East taste then this is the right place to eat. The taste and the types of food are from Syria but they are almost the same with Turkish tastes. If you like Turkish taste then you will like the food here too. The restaurant was pretty clean. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also nice. They achieved this with some small touches to the furniture and walls. The toilet was quite clean too. I liked the cleanliness of it. The staff was friendly. We did not wait too much for our meal. Waiting time was acceptable. There is a free parking place to the restaurant which is about 400m from it. The meal prices were below the average in the Netherlands. The restaurant is in the old center of the city Zoetermeer. You can take a short walk after your meal there. There are also a lot of shops around the restaurants. They said also that the meat was also halal. I did not ask their halal certificate though. Well, we enjoyed our meal there. I can advise this place for kabab lovers. There are vegetarian options too.

It had been a long time since I had eaten something so delicious and so beautifully presented. The service is incredible, very friendly and helpful.

Very healthy and delicious foods, you can easily see that they were prepared with love. We had maklouba, lentil soup, falafels and hummus, they were all very tasty. The portions are also quite generous.

Amazing eastern food! Everything is packed with flavour, specially the kibbeh, hummus & baba ganoush. A must-try spot!

Zaytoona is an absolute delight. I ordered the Falafel Schotel, and honestly, it was the best falafel I have ever had. It was crispy, flavorful, and perfectly made. The Baklava with ice cream was just as impressive, rich and sweet but balanced by the creamy ice cream, making it a dessert I can definitely recommend. The place itself is cozy and welcoming, with a warm atmosphere that makes you want to linger. The prices are a bit higher than some other restaurants, but the quality of the food and the overall experience more than justify it. The staff were super friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful, which added to the charm of the evening. I also tried the Syrian mango drink, which was refreshing and unique. The small chunks of mango inside made it even better, giving it both texture and flavor. Zaytoona is more than just a restaurant. It is a place that leaves you with a lasting impression of great food, excellent service, and a cozy atmosphere. I can’t wait to return to have the Falafel Schotel again.......

Absolutely delicious and authentic Syrian food! As a Halabi, I can say this place truly brought me back home. The flavors were spot on, rich, balanced, and comforting in a way that's hard to find outside of Syria. Every bite reminded me of my mother's cooking and the vibrant food culture of Aleppo. The atmosphere was cozy, and the hospitality made the experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone looking for real, heartwarming Syrian cuisine. Can't wait to come back!
