If you’re Malaysian and hunting for good halal food in Amsterdam, you should totally check out Sefa Restaurant 👀🇳🇱✨ I ordered the chicken döner with rice, lamb sandwich, and chicken sandwich — and honestly, everything was really sedap. The portions were HUGE too. One meal can easily fill up one person, so the prices actually feel pretty worth it for Amsterdam standards. Big plus point: the restaurant is HALAL ✅ which made finding food so much easier during the trip. The staff were super friendly too, and they told us they’re from Istanbul, which made the whole place feel even more authentic. Their sauces seriously deserve a shoutout because they were SO good: * Red Hot Samurai sauce 🌶️ * Spicy Hot Algerienne sauce 🔥 * Spicy Andalouse sauce 😮‍💨 All three made the food even more flavourful. The restaurant is clean, air-conditioned, and has 3 floors, so there’s plenty of seating. Even the toilets were clean and had bidets (Malaysians know why this is important HAHAHA). Toilets are only for paying customers though. Another nice thing is the location — it’s super near the Anne Frank Museum, so it’s a really convenient stop after sightseeing. Overall: good food, halal, big portions, friendly staff, and definitely Malaysian-approved 👍 Would totally come back again!

Very good halal food! The mix grill was excellent, and the lamb was especially delicious and well cooked. The place is a bit small and can get quite noisy, but the food more than makes up for it. The kids really enjoyed themselves and ate until they were full. Overall, a great spot for tasty halal food, especially if you don’t mind a lively atmosphere.

One of the most 'authentic Turkish' kebab places in town. It s simple but good. Price is reasonable. Portions are big. Lamb smells like lamb. They offer best ayran brand you can find in NL. Tea is brewed to perfection. We are loyal customers both for dine in and for take-away

The food was really tasty. I had an Adana kebab plate and my sister ate a chicken dürüm with fries. We had many sauces for option on the table. Overall, food was very delicious, I‘d just take away 1 point for the service, it was fine but the waiter wasn’t very motivated… always on his phone in between and when I asked if there was any kind of Joghurt sauce he just said no (which I do not believe since they offer Döner kebab which includes… a garlic Joghurt sauce…) nevertheless, it was a tasty experience, especially if you are looking for traditional Turkish flair and taste. and big plus for it being halal too!

On the recommendation of our attentive and genuinely friendly server, we opted for a mixed platter to sample a variety of the house specialties. The meal began with a selection of finger foods – nicely presented, freshly prepared, and offering a flavorful variety. This was followed by a crisp and refreshing starter salad, dressed lightly and made with fresh ingredients. The main course was the highlight of the evening: a generously portioned platter featuring Adana kebab, lamb chops, and marinated chicken – all perfectly grilled and seasoned. It was served on a bed of fragrant rice that complemented the rich flavors of the meats beautifully. The quality of the meat was excellent – tender, juicy, and full of taste. The portion size was more than sufficient; everyone in our group left the table feeling satisfied, but not overwhelmed. For dessert, we were served baklava – and it was truly outstanding. Not overly sweet or drenched in syrup, it struck just the right balance of crisp pastry, flavorful filling, and light sweetness. A freshly brewed tea was served alongside, providing the perfect finishing touch. The value for money was absolutely fair, especially considering the quality and quantity of the food. The service was consistently friendly, attentive without being intrusive, and you could tell the staff took pride in what they do. Final Verdict: A delightful culinary experience with authentic dishes where both taste and hospitality are top priorities. We will definitely be coming back – this restaurant is a true hidden gem for anyone who appreciates high-quality Middle Eastern cuisine.
